 African-Inspired Feast



1. Grilled Chicken

Ingredients:


1 kg chicken drumsticks


2 tbsp vegetable oil


2 tbsp soy sauce


1 tbsp paprika


1 tbsp garlic powder


1 tsp salt


1 tsp black pepper


1 tsp cayenne pepper


1 tbsp honey (optional)


Instructions:


Mix all ingredients in a large bowl to create a marinade.


Coat the chicken thoroughly and marinate for at least 2 hours (overnight preferred).


Grill over medium heat for 30–40 minutes, turning occasionally, until charred and cooked through.


2. Creamy Mashed Potatoes

Ingredients:


1 kg potatoes, peeled and cubed


1/2 cup milk


4 tbsp butter


1 tsp salt


1/2 tsp black pepper


Instructions:


Boil potatoes until soft, then drain.


Mash while adding butter, milk, salt, and pepper until smooth.


3. Baked Beans

Ingredients:


1 can (400g) baked beans


1/2 onion, diced


1 tsp garlic, minced


1 tbsp tomato paste


1 tsp paprika


1 tbsp brown sugar


Instructions:


Sauté onions and garlic in a pan until soft.


Add tomato paste, paprika, and brown sugar.


Stir in baked beans and simmer for 10 minutes.


4. Coleslaw

Ingredients:


2 cups shredded cabbage


1/2 cup shredded carrots


1/4 cup mayonnaise


1 tbsp vinegar


1 tsp sugar


Salt & pepper to taste


Instructions:


Mix all ingredients in a bowl.


Chill before serving.


5. Fried Beef Strips

Ingredients:


500g beef, thinly sliced


2 tbsp soy sauce


1 tbsp black pepper


1 tsp garlic powder


Oil for frying


Instructions:


Marinate beef in soy sauce, pepper, and garlic powder for 30 minutes.


Deep fry until crispy and brown.
