Grilled Sausages with Steamed Rice & Stir-Fried Cabbage
Ingredients:
2 sausages (pork, beef, or chicken)
1 cup jasmine rice
1 ½ cups water
2 cups shredded cabbage (preferably Napa or green cabbage)
1 tbsp oil (vegetable or sesame)
1 clove garlic, minced
½ tsp turmeric powder
½ tsp salt
½ tsp sugar
½ tsp soy sauce
1 tbsp ketchup (for garnish)
Instructions:
Cook the Rice:
Rinse the jasmine rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
Add rice and water to a pot, bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes.
Turn off the heat and let it rest for another 5 minutes before fluffing with a fork.
Grill the Sausages:
Preheat a grill pan or skillet over medium heat.
Place the sausages on the pan and cook for about 8–10 minutes, turning occasionally until they develop a nice char and are cooked through.
Prepare the Stir-Fried Cabbage:
Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.
Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant.
Add shredded cabbage, turmeric powder, salt, and sugar. Stir well.
Stir-fry for 3–4 minutes until the cabbage is tender but still slightly crisp.
Drizzle with soy sauce, mix well, and remove from heat.
Assemble the Dish:
Plate a generous mound of steamed rice in the center.
Arrange the grilled sausages on top of the rice.
Serve the stir-fried cabbage on the side.
Add a dollop of ketchup for a pop of color.
Place a silver spoon elegantly beside the plate for a refined touch.
