1/2 tsp salt

1/4 tsp chili flakes (optional)

1/2 cup baked beans

For Serving:

1/2 cup grated cheese

Chilled bottled cocktails or a beverage of choice

Instructions:

Prepare the Meat:

In a small bowl, mix oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder, paprika, and barbecue spice.

Rub the mixture onto the pork chops and let them marinate for at least 30 minutes.

Grill the Meat:

Heat a grill or braai over medium-high heat.

Grill the boerewors for 8-10 minutes, turning occasionally until cooked through.

Grill the pork chops for 5-7 minutes per side until nicely charred and cooked through.

Make the Pap:

Boil 3 cups of water in a pot.

Mix the maize meal with 1 cup of cold water to form a smooth paste.

Slowly stir the maize mixture into the boiling water, stirring continuously to avoid lumps.

Cover and let it cook on low heat for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Add butter (if using) and stir well before serving.

Prepare the Chakalaka:

Heat oil in a pan and sauté the onions, carrots, and bell peppers until soft.

Add curry powder, salt, and chili flakes, stirring for 1 minute.

Add chopped tomatoes and cook until they soften.

Stir in baked beans and simmer for 5 minutes.

Assemble the Dish:

Serve the grilled meat alongside a portion of pap.

Add a side of chakalaka, grated cheese, and any additional relish.

Enjoy with a chilled bottled cocktail or your preferred beverage!
